Mexico plays its final friendly before setting its squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup when it takes on Australia in what should be an extremely pro-El Tri crowd at the Rose Bowl.
Both teams have one more friendly after this before the World Cup begins (Mexico plays Serbia on June 4), but El Tri is set to announce its roster Sunday, May 31, so this is the final audition for bubble players.

Mexico El Tri vs. Australia Socceroos predictions
Sports Mole: Mexico 1, Australia 0
Joel Lefevre writes: The Socceroos can suffocate opponents with their defensive approach, but Mexico are a patient side that rarely get frustrated against those teams, and we expect their individual quality will eventually shine through.
SportyTrader: Mexico to win
Carlos Zabala writes: “This Australian team frankly doesn’t seem as strong as previous ones; they will be without the creative Riley McGree due to injury, and doubts about their attacking options remain. Even so, their physical strength in battling for the ball and their tactical discipline are some of Australia’s virtues. Mexico is also an organized team, but much more versatile, with possession-based passing, better individual quality, and full-backs who attack down the flanks throughout the match. It could be a close game, but the odds for a Mexico victory have value.”

Sportskeeda: Mexico 2, Australia 0
Peter Pedroncelli writes: “With a large Mexican-American crowd behind them, Mexico will dominate possession while Australia aim to be clinical on the counterattack using pace on the wings. We expect El Tri to come out on top in this friendly encounter.”
