JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Jonesboro police say a 15-year-old is in custody following a Monday night fatal shooting.
Just after 9 p.m. April 18, officers responded to a home in the 1500-block of French Street where they found a 17-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
An ambulance took the victim to a local hospital where he later died.
According to a Tuesday news release from the Jonesboro Police Department, officers began searching for the 15-year-old suspect.
Around 2 a.m. April 19, he turned himself in at the police station on Caraway Road.
JPD did not release the names of the victim or the shooter.
According to the initial incident report, the suspect faces charges of first-degree murder and a juvenile probation violation.
