Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found dead on the front porch of a north St. Louis daycare.

ST. LOUIS — A woman was found dead on the front porch of a north St. Louis daycare Thursday night.

Police said they were called to the 3000 block of Whittier Street at around 7:20 p.m. When they arrived, officers found a woman dead on the front porch of the Kolors Learning Center daycare suffering from “puncture wounds.”

She was identified Friday morning as Tyana Moore, 36, of St. Louis.

State records show Moore was a provider at Kolors Learning Center who worked with infants and toddlers.

The daycare’s website said the facility is open 24-hours per day and seven days a week.

Police did not give details on what led up to the homicide but said their suspect is a 55-year-old man.

Homicide detectives are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the department’s homicide division at 314-444-5371, or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS(8477).
