One person dead after truck flips on interstate
Douglas County dispatch said the truck flipped on its side around 9:45 p.m. near the I-80 and JFK interchange.
One person is dead after a truck flipped on its side on the interstate Friday night.Officials say a 2008 Ford F250 pickup truck flipped on its side around 9:45 p.m. near the I-80 and JFK interchange.Authorities say the investigation revealed that due to high speeds a 2008 Ford F250 pickup was northbound on JFK to the on-ramp of I-80 east and drifted off of the road causing the vehicle to roll. Luis A Chavez, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. Chaves was the only occupant of the vehicle. Officers say high speed, alcohol use and lack of vehicle restraint use are the primary factors in this crash.
