Man arrested after running towards crowded Highlands bar with rifle in ‘ready position’
A Louisville man was arrested Saturday night after police say he ran toward a crowded Highlands bar with a rifle in hand.According to arrest records, Carmon Tussey, 25, got in an altercation with someone at O’Shea’s Irish Pub in the Highlands. Following the scuffle, police say Tussey left and came back with an automatic AR pistol with a fully loaded magazine. Police say Tussey had the gun “in ready position” as he allegedly planned to shoot bar-goers he got into an altercation with. Witnesses say they were in fear of their lives based on his words and actions. Once officers saw Tussey, they immediately chased him in “fear for the safety of the crowd.” As Tussey was taken into custody after being initially apprehended by a citizen and other officers, he told officers “that he should have just shot,” according to arrest records. A few hours before while he was in line, officers say Tussey asked officers about what type of rounds their body armor would and would not stop, arrest records say.Tussey was given a $150,000 bond on Monday. Tussey was one of three accused in the shooting death of Miguel Macias, 24, who was killed in July 2015 at the Mallgate Apartments in St. Matthews. According to court records, he was acquitted of all charges, including complicity murder, complicity robbery, and complicity tampering with physical evidence.
