PERRIS: IT ALL STARTED AROU 5ND SUNDAY MORNI.NG >> I WAS SURPRISED TO LOOK OUT THE WINDOW THIS MORNING AND SEE ALL THE AUTHORITIES OUT HE.RE PERRIS: CHICKASHA POLICE AND MULITPLE LAW ENFORCEMENT IN TH METRO RESPONDING TO WHAT THEY’’ LATER FIND OUT WAS A HOSTAGE SITUATION INVOLVING A MAN AND HIS WIFE >> OUR OFFICERS RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE ACTUAL SUSPECT. KIND OF UNUSUATOL HAVE THE ACTUAL ACTOR OR SUSPECT TO CALL US. HE WAS CALLING IN REFERENCE TO THE FACT THAT HE HAD HAD A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE WITH HIS WI.FE PERRIS: POLICE TELL US ONCE OFFICERS GOT HERE THAT MAN WASN’T COOPERATING AND HE EEDND UP BARRICADING HIMSELF INSIDE THE HOME WITH HIS WI. >> AND THEN IT QUICKLY BECAME A HOSTAGE SITUATION. ONCE THAT OCCURRED, IT ACTIVADTE OUR SRT TEAM ALONG WITH OUR COUNTY’S TEAM AND IT BECAME A DAYLONG EVENT RE.HE LUCKILY FOR US IT ACTUALLY HAS RELVEDSO PEACEABLY. MR. GANO ACTUALLY SURRENDERED HIMSELF. PERRIS: CHICKASHA POLICE D THE POLICE SAYS ONCE HE HIS RELEASE HE WILL BE HEADING TO THE GRADY COUNTY JAIL FANGCI KIDNAPPING CHARGES. Suspect turns himself in after hostage situation unfolds at Chickasha home

A suspect turned himself in after a hostage situation unfolded Sunday at a home in Chickasha. Around 5 a.m., a man living at a home near 19th Street and Oregon Avenue told police that he had a “domestic disturbance with his wife.” When officers arrived at the scene, the man wouldn’t cooperate and barricaded himself inside the home with his wife, making it a hostage situation.”Once that occurred, it activated our SRT team along with our county’s team, and it became a day-long event here,” Chickasha police Chief Kathryn Rowell said. “Luckily for us, it actually was resolved itself peacefully. Mr. Gano actually surrendered himself.”Police said the suspect and his wife both went to a hospital to be checked out for injuries. The suspect will be taken to the Grady County Jail once he’s released from the hospital.
