AS A RESULT, THE POOL FENCE HAS BEEN REMOVED AND KYLE’S OLDER BROTHER LEFT THE DOOR OPEN THAT LED TO THE POOL, AND OUT THE DOOR KYLE WENT. >> WE SAW KYLE FLOAT TO THE TOP, ROLL ON HIS BACK AND SWIM TO THE EDGE OF THE POOL, AND GET OUT HIMSELF, FULLY CLOTHED. >> The Reporter: KYLE’S SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR, GIVES KYLE A HIGH 5 AFTER HE DEMONSTRATED EFFORTLESSLY THE ROLLBACK AND FLOAT METHOD THAT ALSO SAVED HIS LIFE. >> SO WE TEACH LESSONS THROUGH SENSORY MOTOR AND THROUGH WATER LEVELS IN THE WATER, AND THROUGH TOUCH. >>> ANNA IS A CERTIFIED INFANT RESOURCE INSTRUCTOR. Monday morning 2-year-old Kyle Siegel was excited to go to school. Not just any school, he attends the Infant Swimming Resource Swim School in Royal Palm Beach.His mother Traci Siegel, was emotional at this lesson. “I don’t know what could’ve happened. That’s when I get emotional if we hadn’t heard the splash and he hadn’t had the swim lessons. I don’t know if he’d be here,” Siegel said. Last week Kyle saved himself from drowning inside his family’s pool after using the swim and float technique he learned from owner Infant Resource Instructor Toni Ann Capanelli. “Being as though Florida is covered in water and man-made lakes, pools and beaches, these skills are essential it’s the leading cause of death for kids ages 4 and under,” said Ann Capanelli, who is also the owner of the swim school. Due to COVID-19, it’s been a year since Kyle had consistent lessons. His mother just started bringing him back for a refresher class. Ann Capanelli said it’s because of repetition and dedication that this 2-year-old was able to save himself.The school is offering one scholarship to a child this month.
