Maine CDC Augusta office closed after employee tests positive for COVID-19
The Maine CDC has temporarily closed its offices in Augusta after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. During Wednesday’s briefing, Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah said four floors of the agency’s office located at 286 Water Street in Augusta are closed while contact tracers investigate possible exposure to other employees. “This is a single case, not an outbreak but, again, we wanted to let you know where things are because of the nature of the work we do,” Dr. Shah said. Dr. Shah said the building will likely reopen to all Thursday. None of the agency’s operations have been interrupted by the partial closure, according to Dr. Shah.
