China complains to U.S. embassy over restrictions on Chinese media

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s foreign ministry said it lodged “stern representations” with the U.S. embassy on Tuesday over Washington’s decision to reduce the number of Chinese nationals permitted to work at U.S. offices of Chinese media outlets.

The U.S. move showed prejudice and discrimination against Chinese media, and China reserved the right to respond, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
